Month-long events for children to be held at Culture-Tourism Village

A string of activities will be organised during this month to entertain children at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism in the Dong Mo tourism area, Hanoi’s Son Tay town.

With the theme being “My Summer Day”, activities will be held to celebrate the International Children’s Day (June 1) and Vietnamese Family Day (June 28) while promoting cultural characteristics and customs of the ethnic minority groups of Vietnam.

This month will feature cultural activities of 13 ethnic minority groups including Tay, Dao, Mong, Thai, Muong, Kho Mu, Ta Oi, Co Tu, Ba Na, Xo Dang, RagLai, Ede, and Khmer and 12 provinces and cities of Thai Nguyen, Hanoi, Ha Giang, Son La, Hoa Binh, Dien Bien, Thua Thien - Hue, Gia Lai, Kon Tum, Ninh Thuan, Dak Lak, and Soc Trang.

The community of 13 ethnic minority groups will also introduce and prepare their specialty dishes and spiritualactivities on the site.

Children will have an opportunity to enjoy performances and exhibitions of traditional musical instruments and even how to play them. They can also take part in folk games of ethnic minorities and contests involving writing, drawing and other activities.

In addition, some traditional festivals and rituals will be recreated by ethnic minority people on June 30.
