The event featured the participation of 50 embassies and diplomatic missions in Czech and attracted around 20,000 visitors.

Speaking at the festival, Prague 6 mayor Ondrej Kolar said that this was the biggest and only International Cultural and Culinary Festival in the Czech Republic.

Visitors had the chance to enjoy traditional food as well as learn about the traditional cultural identities through art programmes from participating countries.

At this year’s festival, Vietnam introduced food that has become familiar to Czech people, such as nem ran (fried spring rolls), bun cha (noodles served with grilled pork) and thit xien nuong (grilled pork skewer).

In addition, Vietnamese artists gave performances with the dan bau (mono chord) and a dance to the melody of the song ‘Vietnam que huong toi’ (Vietnam – my homeland).

Last year, the 2018 International Cultural and Culinary Festival attracted 44 embassies and 15,000 visitors.
