“Tinh Hoa Bac Bo” show named top outdoor cultural spectacle in 2019

The Vietnamese live entertainment show “Tinh Hoa Bac Bo” (the Quintessence of Tonkin) was honoured as the top cultural spectacle in 2019 at the Best Hotels & Resorts Awards 2019 held in Seoul, the Republic of Korea, on July 17.

The first Vietnamese live spectacle is a tourism product from Tuan Chau Hanoi JSC, which has been on show for nearly two years in Da Phuc village, Sai Son commune, Quoc Oai district, Hanoi.

The entertainment show has been presented with a number of records and international awards, including Vietnamese records for the performance show with biggest water stage in Vietnam (4,300m2) and the largest number of peasant actors of Vietnam (150 peasant actors). The show also won a gold medal for Innovation in Media, Visual Communications & Entertainment in the Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards.

“Tinh Hoa Bac Bo” was also recommended by CNN as a must-see show when visiting Hanoi.

Approximately 80,000 tourists, including 50,000 foreigners, have selected to admire “Tinh Hoa Bac Bo” in exploring Vietnamese culture and history.

“Tinh Hoa Bac Bo” shows traditional elements of Vietnamese culture in a contemporary and innovative way, which delivers to the audience a unique and memorable exploration of the Red River Delta, the heart of northern Vietnam.

The outdoor cultural spectacle is performed on a stage of 4,300m2 which is permanently submerged under a thin layer of water and capable of accommodating all 250 performers (professional artists and local farmers) at any one time.
