The event was attended by representatives from Thai ministries and sectors, diplomatic corps in Thailand and 500 Vietnamese expats who are living and working in Thailand.

In his opening remark, Vietnamese Ambassador to Thailand, Nguyen Hai Bang noted with pleasure that Vietnam’s economy has attained firm and stable development and Vietnamese people have enjoyed better living conditions.

Vietnam - Thailand strategic partnership has been continuously promoted, he said, adding that two-way trade has been expanded over the past years and is expected to reach US$20 billion in 2020 as set by the two Governments.

Thailand is Vietnam’s largest trade partner in ASEAN, he affirmed, adding that many big Thai groups are operating successfully in Vietnam.

The programme featured ten booths introducing traditional Vietnamese dishes such as 'pho' (noodle soup), 'bun cha' (noddle with grilled pork and fresh herbs) and 'nem' (spring roll), which attracted long lines of keen tasters.

Visitors to the event were also entertained with art performances by Vietnamese traditional musical instrumentalists.
