Photo contest highlights cultural heritage and cultural creativity in Vietnam

UNESCO in partnership with the German Embassy in Hanoi recently launched the Vietnam Photo Expression 2020 under the theme “Showing we care, Sharing our vision on Culture Diversity”, aiming to highlight the beauty of cultural heritage and creativity in Vietnam.

The event is open to all, professional and amateur, regardless of age, gender, or nationality. Entrants under 18 years of age require the permission of a parent or guardian.

The entries should be taken after January 1, 2009 with a focus on the following four topics: Vietnam’s landscapes of heritage sites and monuments, cultural transmission from generation to generation, arts and creativity and the harmony between people and nature.

Contestants are encouraged to take into account the core UN principles of cultural sensitivity and diversity, gender equality, human rights and environmental sustainability in their process of taking and selecting photos for submission. Each entrant can submit a maximum of five photos to the contest.

Entries should be submitted to http://unesco.vietnamphotocenter.com/ no later than November 1, 2020.

The winners will be announced by November 15, with the three top awards winners earning a prize worth US$1,000 each while top 20 finalists will receive UNESCO certificates.

The contest winners will have their photos exhibited at relevant UNESCO events and functions as well as in UNESCO publications in Vietnam with full credit given to the photographers.
