Born in 1941, Tran Nguyen Dan graduated from the University of Industrial Arts in 1971 and was former Deputy Director of the Vietnam Fine Art Museum. His paintings have been introduced and won prizes at both domestic and foreign exhibitions.
Having a great passion for tradition and national identity, most of Dan’s artworks focus on the themes of nature and daily life of people across the country.
Meanwhile, artworks by late female painter Le Mai Khanh (1952-2017) leave deep impressions of the idyllic beauty of Vietnam’s rural areas as well as her masterful skill of using colours and strokes.
As a graduate of the Vietnam University of Fine Art, Pham Khac Quang, 45, is interested in wood carvings, through which he explores the structures and shares of woods to interpret his ideas in the language of the arts.
Despite their differing concepts and styles in approaching art, the three artists have made contributions to Vietnam’s graphic arts and their works have been imbued with Vietnamese soul and identity.
The exhibition will run until February 27, 2021 at Lunet Art Galerie, Pan Pacific Hotel, No. 1 Thanh Nien Street, Ba Dinh District, Hanoi.
