The information was released at a press conference held in Hanoi on April 6.

Speaking at the conference, Director of Goethe Institute Vietnam Wilfried Eckstein said that through the two new music projects, Goethe Institute wishes to promote contemporary music in Vietnam on the basis of connection and cooperation among artists in Vietnam and Germany.

The series “Music in the 20th century” aims to introduce composers and artworks that have not performed in Vietnam. The 20th century was marked with the unlimited creativity and diverse development of different musical colours and languages.

The “Reconnect” project will contribute to realising opportunities for cross-country meetings among artists through the form of online collaboration in the context of the COVID-19 outbreak.

The project will provide financial support for dialogue and production cooperation activities between Vietnamese and German artists in the field of music, video art and performance.

The concerts under the two projects will last from April to July.
