The book was written by Dr. Truong Thi Hang, a lecturer at Lampang Rajabhat University, and Dr. Nakorn Serirak, a lecturer at the College of Local Administration, Khon Kaen University.

It is divided into three main parts themed: “Vietnam - Thailand relations before 1976”; “45 years of Vietnam – Thailand relationship (1976-2021): a historical journey”; and “Diplomatic dialogue – a common trend in Vietnam – Thailand relations”.

August 6, 1976, the day when Vietnamese and Thai representatives joined the signing ceremony of the Joint Communiqué and established diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Thailand, was chosen by the two authors a reference milestone for their research.

Dr. Truong Thi Hang said that the book aims to help people from Vietnam and Thailand learn more about the relationship between the two countries, thereby contributing to its development in a deeper manner in the near future.

The book is also a message to the young generations of the two countries with the hope that they can see the efforts made by Vietnamese and Thai Governments and people in the journey to build and develop the friendship between the two nations over the past 45 years.
