The event is part of activities marking the 91st founding anniversary of the Vietnam Women’s Union (October 20, 1930-2021).

The exhibition is divided into two parts, wthe first featuring stories about Vietnamese women who always wholeheartedly take care of their families but were still ready to or encourage their husbands and sons to fight and directly join the resistance wars for national independence themselves. With steadfast will, they overcame harsh conditions in prisons or bravely faced the the enemy on the battlefield.

Also in the first part, visitors will have the chance to understand more about nine patriotic female revolutionary soldiers including Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, the first female Secretary of the Saigon Party Committee; Nguyen Thi Quang Thai, sister of Nguyen Thi Minh Khai and the first wife of General Vo Nguyen Giap; legendary heroine Vo Thi Sau; Le Thi Rieng; female general Nguyen Thi Dinh; young female political prisoner Vo Thi Thang; female soldier Tran Thi Ly; and former Vice Presidents Nguyen Thi Binh and Truong My Hoa.

During the second phase, the exhibits focus on highlighting the images of women who took care of their families while promoting production activities towards giving assistance to the southern front.

In addition, women’s efforts in overcoming gender stereotype-based barriers to affirm their position and roles in the new era are also reflected at the exhibition.

The display spaces feature two main colours of gray and red. The event will last until May 2021.
