The posters were selected from a contest which was initially launched in July.

The contest aimed to review the patriotic traditions and glorious history including the will and aspirations for independence and freedom of the Vietnamese people during the resistance war against foreign invaders.

Thereby, the posters will contribute to consolidating and fostering the people's trust in the Party’s guidelines and leadership.

The posters are expected to encourage people from all strata to uphold the great national unity, revolutionary will and determination to enhance the national renewal.

In addition, they will contribute to raising public awareness of proactively fighting against the sabotage plot and activity of hostile and reactionary forces as well as strengthening national defence and security to firmly protect socialism.

The contest was open to both professional and amateur painters who are Vietnamese citizens or overseas Vietnamese. All entries were newly inspired designs that have never been submitted in any other contests and neither have been disseminated in any form.
