After nearly five months of its launching, the organising board received 3,760 entries from across the country.

One first, two second, three third and ten consolation prizes were presented to the 16 most outstanding photos. In addition, five others received extra prizes from the organising board.

Speaking at the award ceremony, Associate Professor. Dr. Pham Minh Tuan, Director and Editor-in-chief of the National Political Publishing House – Truth, noted that the contest was one of activities contributing to propagandising and implementing the resolutions of the Party and Government, towards the goal of developing Vietnam into a country that is strong in the sea, gets rich from the sea, goes to the sea and masters the sea.

The contest aimed to help people, especially younger generations, see the great values of the country’s sea and islands, thereby raising public awareness of protecting and exploiting the potential from the sea and its islands.

The contest offered an opportunity for both professional and amateur photographers in the country and abroad to create special photos on Vietnamese sea and islands under many different perspectives.

The high-quality photos will be selected for a photo book on Vietnamese sea and islands, also a calendar planned for 2022.

The event was co-hosted by the National Political Publishing House - Truth, the Institute for Communication and Human Resource Development (iCORED) under the Association of Vietnam Universities and Colleges, and Photography Magazine.
