Photo exhibition "Vietnamese lawyers with nation's sea and islands" opens

The Vietnamese Lawyers Association opened a photo exhibition "Vietnamese Lawyers with the nation's sea and islands" on the first floor of Star Tower, Duong Dinh Nghe Street, Yen Hoa Ward, Cau Giay District, Hanoi, on December 10.

The photo exhibition aims to give lawyers and readers the opportunity to understand more in depth, the process of construction, development and legal struggle of the Vietnamese Lawyers Association for the national territory and sovereignty over sea and islands, the most realistic images of Vietnam's sovereignty exercised in the East Sea/South China Sea as well as the daily life of officers, soldiers and people on the islands.

The photos on display include five main contents: Historical documents affirming Vietnam's sovereignty over the Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelagos; The attention of the Party and State leaders to officers, soldiers and people on the forward national islands; The Vietnamese Lawyers Association participates in the legal fight to protect Vietnam's sovereignty in the East Sea/South China Sea; Actual activities of working groups from the mainland to visit and encourage officials, soldiers and people of Truong Sa island district; Daily life of soldiers and people on Truong Sa island district.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Nguyen Van Quyen, President of the Vietnamese Lawyers Association said that, during the process of operation and development, the Vietnamese Lawyers Association is always towards the goal of accompanying the Party and State in the struggle to protect national sovereignty over the sea and islands for independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity on the basis of international law.

Over the past years, the Vietnamese Lawyers Association has coordinated with relevant agencies, units and organisations, while promoting the position of the largest socio-political-professional organisation of the Vietnamese lawyers, as well as the prestige of the association in the international lawyer’s community, to carry out many activities towards the above goals.

Through the event, the Vietnam Bar Association would like to call on people of all walks of life across the country and to continue to support and create resources in order to contribute to the care and encouragement of naval officers and soldiers, border guards, fishery surveillance, coast guard, fishermen and people living in land border areas and on the islands.

As planned, the photo exhibition event will take place from December 10 to 15, 2021.
