Exhibition “Silk weaving space” opens

The exhibition "Silk weaving space" opened on December 17, at Uncle Ho's memorial house in Van Phuc village, Ha Dong district, Hanoi, where President Ho Chi Minh wrote the “The Call for National Resistance”.

As part of the activities to mark the 75th anniversary of National Resistance Day (December 19, 1946 – December 19, 2021), the exhibition was organised by the Hanoi municipal Department of Culture and Sports.

The exhibition "Silk weaving space" aims to provide more documents and artifacts related to the event that President Ho Chi Minh wrote the “The Call for National Resistance”. With modern display methods, unique art design, the display introduces nearly 150 images, artifacts and documents.

In particular, the first topic is about the story of Van Phuc craft village, with the stages of silk weaving, from the moment the silkworm releases the silk, to the spinning and other crafting tools.

Here, visitors will see first-hand the simple table, bed and pillow where the beloved President used to work and rest; The set of tables and chairs where Uncle Ho and comrades in the Standing Committee of the Party Central Committee regularly met and approved “The Call for National Resistance”.

The whole display exudes the tradition of Van Phuc land - from a silk weaving craft village to a revolutionary village.

The exhibition aims to educate patriotism, the nation's glorious historical tradition, to show gratitude for the merits of the Party and Uncle Ho, for the cause of national liberation, and to express the affection of the people of the capital for Uncle Ho.

The old house where Uncle Ho stopped at Van Phuc, was recognised as a National Historic Relic Site in 1975. With all his affection for Uncle Ho, Nguyen Van Duong's house was preserved by the people of the capital. Hanoi city has invested, repaired and expanded the relic campus, restored a number of work items to become a place to visit and learn about Uncle Ho's revolutionary example for the people of the country.
