VNSO Spring Concert held in Binh Duong province

The Vietnam Symphony Orchestra (VNSO) Spring Concert, was held in the southern province of Binh Duong on March 5, as the first part of the Binh Duong New City Culture Festival.

The event was sponsored by the Japanese Embassy in Vietnam, Binh Duong provincial People’s Committee and the Japan Business Association in Ho Chi Minh City.

The concert drew the participation of the VNSO, with unique and cheerful compositions, including Light Cavalry and Intermezzo from the Opera “Cavalleria Rusticana”, Bolero and Prelude from the Opera “Carmen”, Die Moldau, A Town With an Ocean View (from the movie “Kiki’s Delivery Service”), One Summer’s Day from the film “Spirited Away” and Sanpo from the film “My Neighbour Totoro”, “Bai ca hy vong” (Hope’s Song), “Mua xuan dau tien” (First Spring) and “Trong com” (Rice Drum).

The performances were conducted by Honna Tetsuji and featured singer Pham Thu Ha.

Binh Duong New City Culture Festival aims to contribute to developing Binh Duong into a dynamic city, imbued with cultural identity through music.

The organisers expect that the music will be a bridge to bring people closer together and have positive energy towards contributing to the sustainable development of society, especially Binh Duong province.
