German language and culture space in Hue put into use

NDO - The Hue University and the Goethe-Institut held a ceremony to inaugurate and put into use the German language and culture space in the Hue - German room at address No1. Dien Bien Phu, Hue City, on March 21.

This is one of the meaningful works, results and important cooperation activities during the visit and working session between the International Faculty - Hue University and the Goethe-Institut, highlighting the cooperation relationship between two sides.

The German language and culture space in Hue is the first model for the development and promotion of the German language at universities in Vietnam. This initiative is being implemented on the basis of the good cooperation relationship between Hue University and the Goethe-Institut.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Quang Linh, President of Hue University, said that through the German language and culture space in Hue, Hue University wishes to create a strong German-speaking environment as a bridge for cultural exchange activities and exchange of students and lecturers between universities in Germany and Hue University. At the same time, the German language and culture space in Hue will also be a familiar address for German patriots in Hue to learn about German language and culture.

According to Wilfried Eckstein, Director of the Goethe-Institut, the German language and cultural space in Hue brings many values. It can also help people study for German language exams and find information about German culture. The Goethe-Institut will be responsible for the quality of German language teaching.

In the near future, the Goethe-Institut will continue to promote cooperation in research and training of the International Faculty of Hue University and strengthen cooperation with the German Academic Exchange Service to support Hue University's member universities in training and fostering human resources.

On the occasion, the units also held a contest to learn about German language, culture and history, and cultural exchange. Within the framework of the programme, the units also organised a discussion on the topic "Alumni-Talk" with the following contents: "Learning and speaking German in Hue: Past, Present and Future", "Learning German in Hue: The key to opening a world of opportunity”.
