Day of Bulgarian Education, Culture and Slavonic Alphabet marked in Hanoi

The Day of Bulgarian Education, Culture and Slavonic Alphabet (May 24), one of the important events of Bulgarian people, was marked at a ceremony held in Hanoi on May 22.

The event was attended by former Politburo member and National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung and former Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan, among others.

Chairwoman of Vietnam – Bulgaria Friendship Association Nguyen Thi Thanh Huong said the celebration of the Day of Bulgarian Education, Culture and Slavonic Alphabet offered a chance to express homage to the Bulgarian language, knowledge and national spirit.

In recent years, despite the COVID-19 pandemic and several international issues, the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Bulgaria has been maintained and developed.

Vietnam – Bulgaria Friendship Association has made great efforts to consolidate and develop the friendship between the two nations, contributing to people-to-people diplomacy.

Bulgarian Ambassador to Vietnam Marinela Petkova affirmed that the potential for the development of the cooperation between the two countries is huge.

On the occasion, the Vietnam – Bulgaria Friendship Association coordinated with the Bulgarian Embassy in Vietnam to organise an exhibition of the “Cyrillic alphabet”.
