Contest to find Vietnamese young music talents

Nhan Dan – New contest to find young musical talents entitled ‘Vietnamese Star - Lotte VK Pop Super Star’ has been launched by the Vietnam Television channel VTV3 in co-ordination with its partners from the Republic of Korea (RoK).

Vietnamese music lovers of all ages can register to participate from November 18 to December 18 in Hanoi and from December 25 to January 1, 2014 in Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City.

The preliminary round of the contest will be held from December 20-22 in Hanoi, from January 3-5, 2014 in Ho Chi Minh City and from January 10-12, 2014 in Da Nang.

The 40 best contestants selected from the preliminary rounds will move onto the Stage Challenge (second round) where 30 entrants will then be selected to compete in the ‘Common House’ round.

From the ‘Common House’ round, the 15 most outstanding contestants will be invited to a training course in the RoK. The competition will then be whittled down to seven talents who will compete in the final round back in Vietnam. 

Leading K-Pop musician Kim Do Hoon producer Shinsadong Tiger and other musical experts from the RoK, along with many Vietnamese muscians, will make up the contest’s jury.

VND7.5 billion is the winning prize, including 660 million in cash, and the cost of training in Korea as well as the costs of production for an album and a music video The champion will also sign a contract with a management company.

The second and third place contestants will receive VND143 and VND121 million in cash, sign contracts with artist training companies and join training sessions with the Korean experts.

The ‘Vietnamese Star - Lotte VK Pop Super Star’ contest will be officially broadcast on VTV3 at 8pm every Saturday from March, 2014.
