The exhibition displays 286 outstanding sculptures by 230 artists from across the country, marking a profound shift in the artistic conception, forms of expression and techniques used to create this type of artwork.

The pieces also show a richness of creative thinking and visual language, as well as the variety of materials employed in modern sculptures.

The exhibits were selected from 675 works submitted to the organising board by 352 artists.

The event has been organised to spotlight the significant contributions of Vietnamese sculptors over the past ten years. It features a new generation of artists that are maturing and employing new creative thinking, combining tradition with modernity and national identity with global trends.

On the occasion, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism presented awards to 21 pieces judged to be the exhibition’s most outstanding sculptures.

The exhibition runs until January 5, 2014.
