The event, running until December 6, was organised by FIDé Fashion Weeks, Multimedia Joint Stock Company (Multimedia JSC) and the Asian Couture Federation.

With 17 fashion shows, the Vietnam International Fashion Week 2014 offers a series of collections from well-known international fashion designers such as Antonio Grimaldi, Livia Stoianova, Yassen Samouilov, Zio Song, Roj Singhakul and Tsolmandakh Munkhuu, and domestic designers such as Cong Tri, Adrian Anh Tuan, Chung Thanh Phong, Hoang Hai, Hoang Minh Ha, Le Thanh Hoa and Vo Thi Li Lam. Famous fashion brand names, such as ISSUE from Thailand and OATV from France, are also showing at the fashion week.

Frank Cintamani, founding president of the ACF and chairman of FIDé Fashion Weeks, said that the event heralds a milestone for Vietnam's fashion industry, with the presence of many international designers alongside those from Vietnam.

The event is an opportunity to encourage and recognise designers who are willing to be experimental in their creations, and to push their own boundaries amongst other talented avant-garde designers, he added.
