2015 German Film Festival to take place in four cities

The 2015 German Film Festival will take place in four cities in Vietnam - Hanoi, Thua Thien-Hue, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City - from September 6 -20, screening a collection of the latest and most popular films from Germany.

This year’s festival will showcase the remarkable dynamism and creativity of the German film industry, with genres ranging from thriller to drama and comedy for audiences of all ages.

The event will feature more than 30 screenings - in the original German language with Vietnamese and English subtitles or voice-over. The selected films have been particularly successful in cinemas around the world as well as at the Berlin Film Festival and other festivals.

The films promise to offer Vietnamese audiences an opportunity to dive into the German film scene.

Additionally, young German director, scriptwriter and actor Tali Barde will be on hand to talk about his film For No Eyes Only with Hanoi audiences September 9 at the National Cinema Centre and with Ho Chi Minh City audiences September 12 at the Cinebox Cinema.

The festival will take place at Hanoi’s National Cinema Center from September 6 to 13, Hue’s Center for Culture & Information from September 10 to 15, Da Nang’s Le Do Cinema from September 11 to 20 and conclude at Ho Chi Minh City’s CINEBOX from September 12 - 18.

Free tickets for the screenings can be acquired from September 1 at the Goethe-Institut in Hanoi, No.56-58 Nguyen Thai Hoc Street; Hue city’s Center for Culture & Information, No.41A Hung Vuong Street; Da Nang city’s Le Do Cinema, No. 46 Tran Phu Street; PHP & Cinema Center Da Nang, No. 68 Tran Phu Street; and the Goethe-Institut in Ho Chi Minh City, No.18, Road 1, District 3.
