Organised by the Centre for the Preservation of Thang Long–Hanoi’s Heritage in coordination with the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports and the Hanoi Museum, the event aims to mark the 70th anniversary of National Resistance Day (December 19) and to review the remarkable history of the capital’s soldiers and people.
Entitled Sống mãi với thủ đô (“Living Forever with the Capital”), the exhibition features nearly 200 documents, artefacts and photographs from the French war in Vietnam (1945-1954) in the custody of the Hanoi Museum and the Thang Long–Hanoi Cultural Heritage Conservation Centre.
The displays are divided into three main themes: “The Vietnamese People Have the Right to Live in Liberty and Independence;” “Hanoi—60 Days of War (December 19, 1946–February 17, 1947);” and “Hanoi’s Liberation (October 10, 1954).”
The exhibition will run until January 3, 2017.
During the event, the Centre for the Preservation of Thang Long–Hanoi’s Heritage will coordinate with Alpha Books to organize the fifth Hanoi old book festival from November 25 to 27. In addition, a seminar will be held on the preservation of Hanoi’s cultural heritage.
