This is the first time the 53-year-old singer has agreed to perform in Vietnam.

The singer sang his most popular hits, as well as others composed more recently.

Marx gained international fame and became a popular idol singer among young Vietnamese in the 1990s with his hits “Right Here Waiting,” “Now and Forever,” “Endless Summer Nights” and “Hazard.”

Though known more for his ballads, many of Marx’s songs feature a classic rock style, such as “Don't Mean Nothing,” “Should've Known Better,” “Satisfied” and “Too Late to Say Goodbye.”

His most popular hit song, “Right Here Waiting,” has gathered over 100 million views on video-sharing site YouTube, while the singer has sold over 30 million records to date.

Marx earned a spot in the record books by becoming the first solo artist to have his first seven singles hit the Top 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart.

The concert also drew the participation of Vietnamese singers Thanh Lam and Tran Thu Ha.
