Various cultural and art programmes to welcome in 2017

A range of cultural activities and art performances are scheduled for the first days of the New Year 2017 across the nation.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Vietnam Television have co-organised a live music festival under the theme "Proud Vietnam – Connecting the Globe", to be broadcasted from 9:30pm on Saturday to midnight on January 1, 2017. The programme will connect the three major cities of Hanoi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City.

On the first day of 2017, the Vietnam Television network has organised a music festival themed "Loving each other," to be broadcasted on its VTV1 channel, bringing together renowned Vietnamese music stars.

On December 31, Hanoi will host two countdown events to welcome in the New Year 2017, one at August Revolution Square, with the participation of the orchestra from the Vietnam National Academy of Music and a number of singers, and another event at Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square with the participation of several renowned international DJs.

In Ho Chi Minh City, a 2017 welcoming festival was kicked off on December 29 at April30 Park, with exhibitions introducing the city’s socioeconomic achievements and its key works, as well as the movement of the entire people unite to build a modern cultural life. On Nguyen Hue walking street, there will be performances of sports and martial arts, along with a countdown event to farewell 2016 and bring in the new year.

This evening, at March 29 Square in Da Nang, there is the 5th countdown festival with lively songs and music by artists, bands, dancers and three international female DJs.

The same day, at Golden Peak Resort Cam Ranh in Khanh Hoa Province, a New Year's Eve Concert will take place with famous DJs and professional dancers, marking the opening of the Golden Peak Resort chain in Cam Ranh City.
