This year’s event will feature the participation of around 160 artists from seven ASEAN countries, including Cambodia, Laos, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam.

The host country selected four art companies with around 100 artists, representing the Northern, Central and Southern regions, to join the festival. Each troupe will register a programme with a total duration of 40 minutes to no more than 45 minutes.

The Art Council for the festival will include five members, including two Vietnamese and three foreigners.

The organising board will award gold and silver medals to the outstanding individuals and troupes and present trophies and souvenir flags to the participants.

The opening ceremony for the 2019 ASEAN Music Festival will take place at 8pm at the Hai Phong Opera House on May 25.

The event will offered an opportunity for Vietnam to promote its unique art forms to international friends, while contributing to strengthening cooperation in the field of culture and arts between Vietnam and other countries in the region.
