Winners of National Book Awards to be honoured

The second National Book Awards are set to honour twenty-seven books and sets of books at a ceremony held by the Voice of Vietnam (VOV) in Hanoi on December 26.

The information was released by the Vietnam Publishing Association at a press conference in Hanoi on December 23.

The organising board received 355 books with 259 book titles from 42 publishing houses.

Based on the two preliminary and final rounds, the second National Book Awards’ Council decided to present two A, thirteen B and twelve C prizes to outstanding books and sets of books.

They are creative works with profound humanity and elaborate scientific research projects that have high scientific, social and practical values.

Each A prize winner received VND100 million, while B and C prize winners were awarded VND50 million and VND30 million each, respectively.

The National Book Award is expected to contribute to promoting a culture of reading among the community.
