Colourful flower streets and festivals held nationwide to welcome Tet Festival

Nguyen Hue Flower Street in District 1 officially opened to the public on January 28 in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, to welcome Tet (Lunar New Year) Festival.

The opening ceremony for the flower street was attended by former President Truong Tan Sang and Politburo member and Secretary of Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan.

Themed “Ho Chi Minh City - Steadily moving forward", the Spring Flower Street spans nearly 700 metres of the Nguyen Hue pedestrian street.

The flower street was designed with three main segments with the respective themes of “Spring of heaven and earth, Spring of human love”, “Developed City, Sustainable Faith”, and “Modern City, Taking a step forward”.

The nearly 130 images of smart and united rats that were associated with themes of the people and culture of the southern region and modern social environment are the highlight of the flower street.

The Spring Flower Street lasts from 7pm on January 22 (the 28th of the twelfth lunar month) to 9pm on January 28 (the fourth of the first lunar month).

The annual Spring Flower Street has become an indispensable destination for the city’s people and visitors on the occasion of Tet Festival.

At the Spring Flower Festival in Da Lat City

A spring flower festival is also being held in Da Lat City, in the Central Highland province of Lam Dong.

On display are over 1,500 decorative flowers and trees as well as more than 500 bonsai and ornamental artworks.

The festival will last until February 3.
