Japanese films to be screened in three major cities

The Japan Foundation Centre for Cultural Exchange in Vietnam will show Japanese films to Vietnamese audiences in the three major cities of Hanoi, Hue and Ho Chi Minh from September 25 to October 25.

The five films to be screened include: “Love and Honour”, “The Travelling Cat Chronicles”, “Say ‘I love you’”, “The great passage”.

All films are screened with English and Vietnamese subtitles.

Japanese films, across different genres such as romance, animals, samurai and family, are produced and released by the famous Japanese film studio Shochiku.

The festival’s opener is “Love and Honour” by Oscar nominated director Yamada Yoji which depicts a strong and deep love between a young samurai who loses his eyesight during a mission and his wife who eventually sacrifices herself to save her husband's honour.

Tickets are being sold at BHD Star Cineplex venues with prices of VND50,000 for adults and VND40,000 for children.
