National Orchid Festival attracts 800 artisans

Various types of orchids gathered at the 2020 National Orchid Festival which was held in the Mekong River Delta province of Vinh Long on November 7-8.

The festival featured the participation of over 800 artisans from179 orchid clubs from 63 provinces and cities around the country.

The organising board presented 80 awards to the most beautiful orchid baskets. The flowers by artisan Quang Minh in Long An Province, which received the golden prize in the Dendrobium category, were granted the special prize at the festival.

The golden prizes in the categories of synthesis, Cattleya, Hybrid Cattleya and Slipper Orchids went to Tri Tuc Garden (in Bao Loc Town, Lam Dong Province), Le Thanh Phuong (from Ben Tre), Tran Huu Tho (from Ben Tre), Le Van Hoanh (Da Lat City) and Phan Le Huy Cuong (from Vinh Long).

On the occasion, artisans and philanthropists presentedscholarships to 50 outstanding students who are living in difficult circumstances in Vinh Long Province.
