National Circus Talent Competition opens in Hanoi

The 2021 National Circus Talent Competition officially opened at the Hanoi Central Circus on April 22, attracting over 100 artists around the country.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sport and Tourism Ta Quang Dong, the competition was the first activity among the professional art festivals and competitions to have been launched by the Ministry in 2021.

He expressed hope that the competition will seek many new talents and important nuclei for the development of Vietnamese circus in the coming time.

The participants come from five art troupes including the Vietnam Circus Federation, the Hanoi Circus and Vaudeville Theatre, the Vietnam Circus and Vaudeville School, the Phuong Nam Art Theatre, and the Long An Provincial Centre for Arts and Culture.

Taking place until April 27, the event will feature nearly 30 attractive performances which are expected to delight audiences, especially children.

During the competition, five shows will be held on the pedestrian streets around Hoan Kiem Lake.
