Lang Toi (My Village) is a delicate merge of tradition and innovation, where the poetic beauty of Northern Vietnam’s village life is presented through a new cirque approach.

Farming, building activities, traditional games, and the lifestyle of the Northern villagers are recreated through ancestral bamboo props, breath-taking cirque and acrobatics performances, and rhythmic dance, to distinct folk music from more than 20 musical instruments.

Exhibition “Streets vendors and street cries of Hanoi”

The exhibition presents a collection of sketches, drawings and watercolor paintings created by fifteen students from Indochina College of Fine Arts (now Vietnam University of Fine Arts) and their teacher – Ferdinand de Fénis. They skillfully sketched the small world of street vendors who criss-crossed the streets of the capital city, beginning their day from dawn, with a wide variety of fruits and vegetables, sweets and dishes to offer.

Art Project “Love for Mother Earth”

This project is created in collaboration with young artist Ly Vu on the occasion of the 5th anniversary of Lotte Department Store Vietnam, with the hope to bring to the public a unique experience, a harmonious connection with dear Mother Nature.

Through the beauty of visual arts, the project hopes to convey to customers the peaceful yet earnest love for nature with the image of gentle Mother Nature with the sky, trees, flowers, animals. Liberating strokes and a vibrant palette create the pristine beauty of nature right at the space of Lotte Department Store, appearing on gift sets and expressing gratitude towards what Mother Nature has given us human.

Exhibition “Turning into Butterflies”

Korean Cultural Center (KCC)

“Turning into Butterflies” is made up of installation works created with approximately 1,300 paper butterflies of nearly 1,300 children and young people including those with disabilities around the world – from the Republic of Korea (RoK), the US, to Africa, Indonesia, Europe; about 100 artworks of disabled and autistic students from Vietnam’s Binh Minh Special School; and nearly 20 artworks by Ahn Yun Mo and 5 RoK artists with disabilities.

The exhibition is part of the project “Turning into Butterflies” initiated worldwide since 2013 by RoK artist Ahn Yun Mo with disabled children and young people. Through the project, Ahn Yun Mo hopes that we – people who live in this world, can overcome all barriers of skin colours and languages, break the gap between people with disabilities and those without, creating new progress in promoting the fundamental role of art of bringing people closer together.

Teh Dar: Vietnamese Tribal Culture

‘Teh Dar: Vietnamese Tribal Culture features a vibrant display of circus arts, aerial acrobatics, and tribal music within an hour-long performance.

The show highlights the lives of tribal families from the southwest highlands of Vietnam, using UNESCO-listed percussion instruments, such as Vietnamese gongs and buffalo horns, as well as vibrant costumes, and a stunning bamboo cirque depicting various landscapes and creatures from tribal folklores.
