You are invited to a concert featuring German-language band AB SYNDROM, whose unusual beats have been rocking the German music scene since 2007, including their vocal chop hit “Flaggschiff”.
As a special feature, Vietnamese artist Linh Ha (For Now) will accompany the duo on their tour of Vietnam. Linh Ha is an accomplished musician who uses her unique voice and a variety of percussion instruments to create multidimensional soundscapes.

‘Lang Toi’ (My Village) by Lune Production

Lang Toi (My Village) is a delicate merge of tradition and innovation, where the poetic beauty of Northern Vietnam’s village life is presented through a new cirque approach.
Farming, building activities, traditional games, and the lifestyle of the Northern villagers are recreated through ancestral bamboo props, breath-taking cirque and acrobatics performances, and rhythmic dance, to distinct folk music from more than 20 musical instruments.

Exhibition “Bui Xuan Phai and Hanoi”

Some 100 paintings by the late artist will be on show, characterised by the three following themes:
– “Phai’s streets”
– “Phai’s cheo” (cheo is a traditional form of Vietnam’s musical theatre)
– “Phai and friends”
This is the first showcase of late Vietnamese painter Bui Xuan Phai’s painting in Vietnam to use the 3D mapping technique and multimedia, including a light and sound system, to create an impressive exhibition space full of colours.
The interactive exhibition will provide audiences with a new visual and auditory experience and help them get a better understanding of Bui Xuan Phai’s work.

The exhibition showcases the latest artworks dedicated to Manzi by Nguyen Phi Phi Oanh, Le Hoang Bich Phuong, Nguyen Huy An, Nguyen Tren Nam, Nguyen Duc Phuong and Nguyan Minh Thanh.
Presenting a thorough experiment on lacquer and silk through more than 20 works, the exhibition transports the viewer to a diverse reality painted from life.

You are invited to a contemporary photography exhibition by 12 emerging Southeast Asian photographers, including Alvin Lau (Malaysia), Amrita Chandradas (Singapore), Muhammad Fadli (Indonesia), Dennese Victoria (Philippines), Kanel Khiev (Cambodia), Dwi Asrul Fajar (Indonesia), Elliott Koon (Malaysia), Watsamon Tri-yasakda (Thailand), Lee Chang Ming (Singapore), Geric Cruz (Philippines), Linh Phạm (Việt Nam) và Yu Yu Myint Than (Myanmar).
The works on display examine the fragility of youth and the ambiguity of the future, through a still-developing yet unique visual language from the Southeast Asian region.

Come to enjoy “Hanoise”, a new composition of Vietnamese musician Vu Nhat Tan, featuring Hanoi New Music Ensemble two guests from Germany: Nina Janßen-Deinzer, clarinet and Lucas Fels, cello.
In addition to Vu Nhat Tan’s composition, the artists will bring to the stage Olivier Messiaen’s famous piece “Quartet for the end of time” and Jörg Widmann’s “Fieberphantasie” featuring piano, a string quartet and clarinets.

‘Teh Dar: Vietnamese Tribal Culture features a vibrant display of circus arts, aerial acrobatics, and tribal music within an hour-long performance.
The show highlights the lives of tribal families from the southwest highlands of Vietnam, using UNESCO-listed percussion instruments, such as Vietnamese gongs and buffalo horns, as well as vibrant costumes, and a stunning bamboo cirque depicting various landscapes and creatures from tribal folklores.

Through their exhibition “Necessary Fictions”, artists Tammy Nguyen and Ha Ninh Pham respectively reveal the architectural and anthropomorphic dimensions of desire – their images playfully morphing the worlds of human, flora and fauna – revealing the study of time and morality as a deeply flawed, exploitative landscape whereby human whimsy often rules supreme.
‘Broken Relationships’ is an investigation by Nguyen Ngoc Thach into the chaos of the current world order and the loss of ethical ground in a human-to-human social contract
