Exhibition: Vietnam Reimagined

Goethe Institute Hanoi

“Vietnam Reimagined” is the first illustration exhibition in Hanoi, bringing together 30 excellent artworks from the 7th Illustration Challenge of Vietnam Local Artists Group.

Dreaming about Landscapes

Mo Art Space

B3, Apricot Hotel

136 Hang Trong Street, Hoan Kiem District,

The exhibition presents 27 artworks from 22 Vietnamese and foreign artists. However, this selection is still modest in the context of Vietnamese contemporary art, which has been developing strongly in recent years.

The artworks have been made in different times and spaces, with various perspectives and stories, providing a panoramic view of landscape painting, a long history in Western and Eastern art.

Exhibition “The Yuendumu Doors”

Trong Dong Building

Vietnam Museum of Ethnology

Nguyen Van Huyen Street, Cau Giay District,

“The Yuendumu Doors” exhibition introduces one of the most important cultural and artistic collections in Australia.

It brings Australia’s unique Indigenous culture to a Vietnamese audience and deepens the people-to-people links between the two countries.

HO CHI MINH CITY

EXHIBITION

Am I Superwoman?

Sàn Art

Unit B6.17 & B6.16

Millennium Masteri

132 Ben Van Don Street, Ward 6, District 4,

Despite the provocativeness, what the question “Am I Superwoman?” really calls for is not a straightforward answer, but an invitation to peer into the complex, mythical construct of feminine roles.

In one aspect, the exhibition retrospectively analyses the portrayal of Vietnamese female figures in Vietnamese Socialist idealism according to the “Ba dam dang” virtues (‘dutiful Home-maker, Worker, and Fighter); and in the other, introspectively delves into the intimate interpretations of femininity by contemporary female artists.

”Thuy Nguyen – An Everyday Dream”

The Factory Contemporary Arts Centre

No 15 Nguyen U Di, Thao Dien, District 2,

Known and recognised for her multidisciplinary creative practice, entrepreneurship and distinct aesthetic, Thuy Nguyen is one of Vietnam’s most celebrated designers and a leader in Vietnam’s emerging and rapidly growing fashion industry.

This exhibition, curated by Dolla S. Merrillees, is the first to explore her career and practice of more than a decade, revealing the background, creative processes, cultural influences and inspiration that have contributed to the making of a successful and acclaimed fashion design house.
