Ceremony marks founding anniversary of VOV domestic bureau in HCMC

The Voice of Vietnam (VOV) domestic bureau in Ho Chi Minh City held a ceremony on December 24, to mark its 30th founding anniversary and inaugurate its new office building.

The event was attended by Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh, and the leaders of Ho Chi Minh City and south-eastern localities.

Addressing the event, member of the Party Central Committee and VOV General Director, Nguyen The Ky, stressed that, over its 70 years of establishment and development, VOV has reaffirmed its role as one of the key national news agencies and a trustworthy forum of the people.

The founding of VOV’s domestic bureau in Ho Chi Minh City 30 years ago marked a new chapter in the progress of the agency, contributing to bringing the voice of the Party and State closer to the people and updating the operations of local Party committees, authorities, residents and armed forces in the southern region.

The bureau has provided a trustful and comprehensive coverage of the political, socio-economic, security and defence situation in Ho Chi Minh City and the Southeast region.

At the ceremony, outstanding individuals and collectives of the bureau were honoured for their excellent working performance.
