Localities crowded with visitors during New Year holiday

The northern province of Ninh Binh welcomed more than 106,000 holidaymakers, during the three-day New Year holiday from December 31, 2022, to January 2, 2023, up 23 times higher than the same period last year.

The provincial Tourism Department reported that the most-visited areas in the province included Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex, the Tam Coc – Bich Dong tourist site, the Thung Nham Bird Park, Mua Cave, Cuc Phuong National Park, and Phat Diem Stone Cathedral.

In 2023, the local hospitality sector targets to serve around 4.5 million visitors, including 200,000 foreigners, and earn over 4.3 trillion VND in revenue.

* On January 3, the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Department announced that the city greeted roughly 35,000 international arrivals and 1.6 million vacationers during the three-day holiday, with a total tourism revenue of more than 5.9 trillion VND.

Director of the municipal Tourism Department Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa said, that the city’s hospitality sector has launched assorted programmes and events to attract more visitors to the city.

The programmes and events are expected to give a boost to the sector’s recovery, contributing to the city’s socio-economic development after the COVID-19 pandemic.

* In the same reviewed period, the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong received 120,000 travellers, an increase of 33.3% year-on-year.

The travellers included 6,500 foreigners, up 10 times higher than in the same period last year.
