Players from the Army squad won last night’s men’s team final against Hai Duong opponents with reigning men’s singles runner-up Le Tien Dat beating Doan Ba Tuan Anh 3-0, Dinh Quang Linh handling Nguyen Van Ngoc 3-0 and Duong Van Nam edging out Nguyen Duc Tuan 3-2.
With his outstanding performance representing the Army, Le Tien Dat is currently a favourite for this year’s men’s singles title.
On the women’s side, Mai Hoang My Trang continued to prove herself as a key player of HCM City Petrosetco, securing two wins over Hanoi players, Nguyen Thi Nga and Pham Da Thao before Nguyen Thi Thanh Truc secured the overall victory for Petrosetco with a 3-1 win over Nguyen Thi Huong.
Losing just one game thus far in this year’s tournament, Mai Hoang My Trang is confident in her ability to defend her women’s singles crown.
The competition continues today with the men’s and women’s singles events.
