Dak Lak border guards strive to realise dual tasks

Amidst the complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic over the past two years, border guards in Dak Lak province have overcome difficulties, to perform their dual tasks of safeguarding national sovereignty, territorial integration and border security, while preventing the spread of COVID-19.

The Dak Lak border guard force is assigned to manage and safeguard more than 73km of borderline, with the Cambodian province of Mondulkiri.

Over the past two years, Dak Lak border guards have increased and strengthened patrols, to prevent both the spread of the pandemic and illegal cross-border migration and control.

Every day, the border guards have to check border markers throughout the province.

The border guards have also contributed to reducing poverty and improving the living conditions of local people.

Helping disadvantaged households to develop livestock and poultry farming.

The force has developed a close bond with the local people.

Providing free health check-ups for people in border communes.

Presenting gifts to an elder in the province.

Soldiers at border posts in Dak Lak have also adopted dozens of disadvantaged children, helping them overcome difficult circumstance and continue their studies.
