The authorities of Hanoi City have removed the ban which requested dine-in food and beverage facilities to be closed by 9pm.

The decision was made within a document on safe and flexible adaptation and effective control of COVID-19 and reopening tourism which was signed by Chairman of the Hanoi Municipal People’s Committee Chu Ngoc Anh on the evening of March 15.

Following the decision, dine-in food venues in Hanoi have been attracting large numbers of young people.

Cafeterias located around Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square in downtown Hanoi, which offer stunning views of Hoan Kiem Lake, are bustling once again as they can now serve customers after 9pm.

At 11 pm yesterday, a cafeteria on Phung Hung Street, Hoan Kiem District, was still crowded with guests.

Ta Hien Street has regained its nickname as the “sleepless street” as it still welcomed a many diners coming after 10pm on March 15.

Tong Duy Tan Street, commonly known as Food Street, is getting busier following Hanoi’s decision to allow restaurants and cafes to resume normal operations.
