Quang An Flower Market bustling for Tet

The flower market in Quang An Ward, Tay Ho District, Hanoi, which is known as the biggest wholesale market for flowers in the capital city, is bustling for Tet (Lunar New Year) Festival.

Various kinds of flowers from many localities are gathered at the market and then brought to all streets and families in the city.

The market’s space becomes tighter during the occasion of Tet because the volume of flowers is tripled or even quadrupled.

The 27th and 28th days of the twelfth lunar month are the busiest days of the market, but many pavilions will remain open until New Year’s Eve.

Flowers come from the flower villages in the vicinities of Hanoi, including Tu Lien, Phu Thuong, Tay Tuu, Me Linh, Kim Chung, Lien Mac and Phung Cong.

Gladiolus flowers are brought from Dalat in refrigerated trucks.

The flower market is bustling and noisy. Both sellers and buyers are hurried and busy, but they all are happy to yield together despite the crowded space.
