Hanoi: Thousands of free face masks provided for the public

The Hanoi Police Youth Union in collaboration with the ‘An Ninh Thu Do’ (Capital Security) Newspaper and the Hoa Cuc Xanh (Green Daisy) Charity Group launched a programme on February 2 to provide 75,000 free face masks at Hanoi Station (Hoan Kiem District) and 50 Dang Thai Mai Street (Tay Ho District) in a joint effort to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus (nCoV).

The masks are four-layer medical masks, with quality that been verified by authorised agencies.

Each person is provided with a pack of three masks.

The recipients are recommended to wash their hands with hand sanitiser.

The programme is popularised at Hanoi station through the station’s loudspeaker system in order to reach wider audience.

Local people living in the area are also provided with free masks.
