Workers brave searing heat to keep Cua Hoi Bridge on schedule

Construction engineers and workers are working in the midst of 40C-plus temperatures at the site of the Cua Hoi Bridge linking the two central provinces of Nghe An and Ha Tinh over the Lam River.

Despite the blistering heat, workers are still toiling away to ensure the construction project is on schedule for completion by the end of 2020.

Since the heat wave began in mid-May, workers have been working under extreme weather conditions with many days recording mercury readings of 40C and above. Temperatures on the concrete surface are even higher, up to 50C.
