Through around 60 multilateral and bilateral activities, the Vietnamese delegation, led by PM Chinh, delivered crucial messages about ASEAN and its future and affirmed Vietnam’s role and position in the bloc. They supported Laos in its successful chairmanship of ASEAN for 2024, further fostering the special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.
The delegation engaged in over 20 key activities, including ASEAN summits, ASEAN’s summits with partners, thematic dialogues and discussions.
On the occasion, PM Chinh held bilateral meetings with ASEAN leaders and partners, and joined his counterparts from Laos and Cambodia in initiatives aimed at bolstering solidarity and cooperation among the three countries.
Notably, the Vietnamese PM held meetings with Laos' top leaders, including the Party General Secretary and President, the Prime Minister, and the President of the National Assembly to discuss ways further nurturing the bilateral great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation.
The working trip yielded comprehensive results that align with Vietnam’s foreign policy as outlined in the 13th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Politburo’s conclusion on orientations to ASEAN engagement through 2030. It further underscored Vietnam's foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, diversification and multilateralism of external ties, and increased trust and foster deeper, more practical and effective partnerships for peace, cooperation and development in each country, the region, and the world.
