Task Assignments of Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Ministers

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has signed Decision No. 1460/QD-TTg, dated September 6, 2021, on the task assignments of the Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Ministers.

The decision clearly states the assignment principles and working relationship between the Prime Minister and the Deputy Prime Ministers.

The PM personally directs and administers the following fields: National socio-economic development strategies and plans; national financial, credit, monetary strategies and policies; national defence, security diplomacy strategies and national defence and security; institutional building; apparatus organisation and personnel work; state administrative boundaries; general issues on emulation and commendation; and coordination between the Government and organs/agencies of the Party, the National Assembly, the State President, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, and socio-political organisations.

He will also monitor and direct the Ministry of National Defence, the Ministry of Public Security, the Vietnam News Agency, Vietnam Television, the Voice of Vietnam, and the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Management Board; as well as personally act as the Head of the State Steering Committee for the East Sea/South China Sea and Islands; Head of the National Committee for E-Government; Chairman of the National Emulation-Commendation Council; Head of the National Steering Committee for Cyber Safety and Security; Head of the Government Steering Committee for Administrative Reform; and Chairman of other national committees and councils.

Deputy Prime Ministers Pham Binh Minh, Le Minh Khai, Vu Duc Dam and Le Van Thanh will assist the Prime Minister in monitoring and directing some of the assigned fields as well performing other tasks assigned or authorised by the Prime Minister.
