Central Theoretical Council for 2021-2026 tenure convenes first session

The first session of the Central Theoretical Council for the 2021-2026 tenure was held in virtual format on September 12.

Addressing the session, Politburo member and Permanent member of the Secretariat Vo Van Thuong suggested the Council further innovate its contents and methods of operation; improve the quality and efficiency of its work, and contribute to raising the theoretical thinking of the Party, promoting practical review, theoretical research on a scientific basis, thereby planning the Party's guildlines and the State's laws and policies.

The theoretical research activities of the Council must be closely linked with the activities of central and local agencies, he said, adding that it is necessary to actively implementing the project on summarising the practice of theoretical research and policy orientation.

The Politburo member and Permanent member of the Secretariat noted that the Central Theoretical Council should also continue to further improve the quality and efficiency of international work in the field of political theory in the process of leading, directing and making decisions with theoretical research agencies, Communist parties, ruling parties and political parties in the world, and organise seminars to exchange political theories and research on appropriate types of cooperation.

At the first session, the Central Theoretical Council presented a draft Plan on the working programme of the Council and the draft working regulations of its subcommittees for the 2021-2026 tenure.
