Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, also Head of the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control, made the request while chairing a virtual meeting with the two provinces on September 13, in the context the epidemic situation in the two provinces has seen many complicated developments in recent times.

According to the PM, more attention should be paid to grassroots healthcare facilities in order to help reduce the load at the upper levels, assisting infected people to access healthcare services as soon as possible, and reducing the number of deaths.

The effectiveness of these strategies has clearly shown through the evaluation and analysis of experts and scientists, he noted.

PM Chinh also asked leaders of the two provinces to report specifically on the situation of epidemic prevention and control in the area; check whether local leaders had a good grasp of the epidemic situation, specifically testing and screening for F0 cases and the rate of infection in the community, etc.

The PM requested Tien Giang and Kien Giang to draw lessons and experience from other provinces and devise more drastic measures to soon repel the epidemic.
