The national scientific conference "Media economics: Theory, practice and experience" was organised by the Academy of Journalism and Communication and the Su That (Truth) National Political Publishing House, in both face-to-face and online formats.

The event was attended by Member of the Party Central Committee and Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan (People) Newspaper Le Quoc Minh, who is Deputy Head of the Party Central Committee's Commission for Communication and Education, along with representatives and leaders of a number of departments, ministries, agencies, publishing houses, and central and local newspapers and magazines, as well as a large number of domestic and foreign scientists and researchers.

The conference affirmed that the media economy activities in the past time have contributed to promoting the development of press and media agencies, meeting the increasing demands of the modern public.

However, in the development of the media economy, there have been many negative manifestations along with the phenomenon of commercialisation. This poses problems that require the media economy to operate professionally and effectively, contributing positively to the overall development of the country.

More than 100 papers submitted by scientists, presented at the conference, create a comprehensive picture of the media economy, especially the vivid practical lessons learned in the world and in Vietnam today.

Thereby the papers suggested issues to help media agencies develop better and create legitimate sources of revenue, and help Vietnam's media community become stronger, reaching out to the region and the world.

The conference provided many scientific arguments to propose to the Party and State to promptly issue appropriate guidelines and policies to further develop and improve the efficiency of the media economy in Vietnam.
