The State leader spoke highly of the BAV and its members’ achievements in production and business activities, along with their humanitarian deeds and social responsibility as seen in their assistance for former comrades, scholarships for children of veterans, financial support for those performing duties at sea and on islands, donation of trillions of VND to the National Fund for Vietnamese Children, and considerable contributions to the fight against COVID-19.

He asked the BAV to enhance coordination with ministries, sectors, and localities to advise the Veterans Association of Vietnam about creative and effective measures for caring for and protecting legitimate interests of members.

The BAV should bring into play the role of war veterans in the country’s new period and give recommendations about national development and safeguarding to the Party and State. Apart from improving business performance, it also needs to step up charitable activities, particularly supporting victims of Agent Orange, poor veterans, and those in disadvantaged areas, according to President Phuc.
