While speaking at the 11th National Congress of the Vietnam Journalists’ Association (VJA) in Hanoi on December 31, Politburo member and Permanent member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat Vo Van Thuong said the press must continue to renew itself to truly become an accurate, timely, powerful, influential and responsible channel of information in society.

He proposed the association actively adopt action programmes and specific and substantive activities to continue increasing the position, role, quality and operation efficiency of the VJA and its chapters.
