Ceremony marks 60 years of Uncle Ho’s fourth visit to Thai Binh province

A ceremony was held in the northern province of Thai Binh on January 7, to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Uncle Ho's fourth visit (March 26, 1962-2022) and 55th anniversary of his fifth visit (December 31, 1966-2021) to the locality.

The event was attended by Politburo member and permanent member of the Secretariat; former Politburo member and permanent member of the Secretariat; Politburo members: Secretary of Party Central Committee (PCC) and Head of the PCC's Inspection Commission, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council and Director of Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics Nguyen Xuan Thang; Secretary of the PCC and Head of the PCC’s Commission for Communication and Education; and Vice Chairman of National Assembly Nguyen Khac Dinh.

Speaking at the ceremony, Politburo member Vo Van Thuong emphasised that since Uncle Ho’s first visit to Thai Binh province in 1946, the provincial Party committee, authorities and people, have made efforts to overcome all difficulties and obstacles to gain great achievements.

He asked the province to take initiatives in promoting their potentials and strengths, in order to boost the socio-economic development, focusing on rural and agricultural development.

The Politburo member noted that Thai Binh should continue to uphold the traditional cultural values of the country, as well as improve the quality of education and human resources training.

It is essential to pay great attention to the development of science and technology, to meet the requirements of the industrialisation and modernisation cause, he added.

The local authorities were also required to focus on social security, especially creating stable jobs, improving incomes and enhancing sustainable poverty reduction, while maintaining defence and security.

The Party committees at all levels throughout the province, need to strengthen Party building and rectification work, as well as the campaign to study and follow President Ho Chi Minh’s thought, morality and lifestyle.

* Also on the same day, Politburo member, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council and Director of Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics Nguyen Xuan Thang worked with the Standing Committee of Thai Binh Provincial Party Committee and the provincial School of Politics on cadre work and training and the implementation of Regulation No. 11-QD/TW, dated May 19, 2021, of the Central Secretariat on building a standard school of politics.
