Vinh Long Province marks 190th founding anniversary

The Mekong Delta province of Vinh Long held a ceremony on April 28 to mark its 190th founding anniversary and the 30th anniversary of its re-establishment.

The event was attended by National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue and other senior Party and State leaders, as well as former and current provincial officials, revolutionaries and heroic mothers.

In his speech at the ceremony, the top legislator congratulated Vinh Long on its major achievements in recent years, highlighting them as an important foundation for its future development.

He urged the province to continue overcoming difficulties and challenges while tapping into all resources effectively in order to record stronger growth to match its potential and advantages.

The parliamentary leader noted that Vinh Long needs to improve regional connectivity, attract investment in key infrastructure, enhance the effectiveness of public investment and remove unnecessary projects.

He also asked the province to pay attention to culture, along with economic development, regarding it as both the goal and driver of development.

On the occasion, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue presented the Labour Order, first class, to the Party organisation, government and people of Vinh Long Province.
