During the meeting, voters were informed about the outcome of the recently concluded third plenary session, which adopted many important decisions on socio-economic development, especially the construction of the Bien Hoa-Vung Tau Expressway.

For their part, voters voiced their concerns over matters directly affecting their lives such as inflation, rising fuel costs and the pricing of new textbooks.

Speaking at the event, Deputy PM Pham Binh Minh stated that voters’ opinions were all expressed at the parliamentary meeting, demonstrating that the National Assembly deputies always listen to and convey voters’ concerns to the legislative body.

He stated that although inflation in Vietnam remains in check, it is expected to continue rising, adding that the government will take appropriate measures to deal with price rises both domestically and externally.

With regards to fuel and fertiliser prices, the government and ministries are already utilising all available instruments to ease the upward pressure on fuel prices and restricted the export of fertilisers.

The National Assembly also added textbooks to the price stabilisation list and asked the Ministry of Education and Training to give consideration to textbook prices and tuition fees.
